Village, cenotes and walled city: a Yucatan and Campeche itinerary
This Yucatan and Campeche itinerary links three very different houses: a rescued casona (a large traditional house) in Espita, a Pueblo Mágico; a house for travelers in the scrub forest of the Ring of Cenotes, near Mérida; and the restored casonas of the walled city of Campeche, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The direct drives, of about two to two and a half hours, link the stays without taking up the whole day. You can add a stop in Izamal or give more time to the variant via Uxmal.
Who it is for: travelers looking for villages, nature and architecture who want time to enjoy each house, as a couple, with friends or with family.
Arrival and departure: you can arrive through Cancún (about 190 km to Los Cedros, about two and a half hours) or Mérida (about 170 km, about two and a half hours), and leave through Campeche, about 10 minutes from the center, or through Mérida, adding the drive back from Campeche (about 170 km, about two hours). The route also works in reverse. If you rent a car and return it in another city, confirm the conditions with the rental company.

The route in two legs
The pace of the trip
The heart of this route is the houses: a garden of aromatic plants in Espita, the scrub forest and its birds in Seyé, the patios inside the wall in Campeche. Leave time at each stage to enjoy the house and its surroundings, and adjust the route to your dates and to each house’s availability.
